One of my favorite salsa vocalists, RaulÃn Rosendo, is back with a new release that will not disappoint. This straight-ahead salsa project, with participating musicians such as pianist Isidro Infante, Luisito Quintero on percussion, Johnny Pacheco -- and many others -- on coro, this one is strictly for the dancers. There are lots of solid danceclub-ready tracks here: 'Vuela Mujer' and 'Tengo Envidia' are sure bets. And Mr. Rosendo's 7-1/2 minute 'Homenaje a Héctor Lavoe' will be sure to get those old-school dancers out in front. ('La Banda', 'Abuelita', 'Mi Gente', are but a few buttons that are pushed. A guaranteed applause) Ultimately, it's the cover track, 'De Aqui Pa'lla', a Sony Ovalle arrangement, that is the killer here. DJs make note: Play this track.
Raulin is on fire.
