***(*) out of ***** stars Review by Thomas Nygaard
Well, it´s not a bad video! And it might even deserve **** or *****in other peoples opinion. Especially if you are an inter-mediate dancer trying to improve.

And you actually get quite a few moves from this video.

Though the male teacher seemingly has a streetdance background it doesn´t show on the video. And really: That´s too bad, since his salsa-technique isn´t something special. Next time please let us see some funky moves, Mr. Coronel.

The female teacher, LA celebrity Josie Neglia appearently has a background in ballroom dancing which I, personally, find of little use when dancing salsa. Salsa IS, or at least, WAS, originally a streetdance.

The many ballroom dancers are extremely welltrained, ballroom technique is in many ways not very suitable for the improvised dance floor and the heavy grounding which is an essential part of all streetdances is very difficult to practice in very high heels.

However, the teaching part, is quite alright, though the repertoire won´t satisfy all advanced dancers.

I´ll give it ***(*)

**** out of ***** stars Review by Fabio SalsaIsGood
This DVD follows the same format as Advanced Salsa Combinations, Disk 8, but goes a considerable step up in difficulty level, so be prepared to be seriously challenged. After 5 classic turn patterns, Jose and Alvaro shows us 7 lifts, 3 jumps, and 5 drops. This is not for everyone, you need to be agile, fast and strong; some of this material could, in principle (!), be performed in a club, but most of it is strictly for the stage, at the very least because it needs a lot of space to execute safely. This material shows Jose at her best and explains why Alvaro was chosen to be her dancing partner. While his salsa dancing in the turn patterns is good but not outstanding, in the acrobatics he clearly shows his ability, precision and strength. Some of these acrobatics are \'classics\', others are less common, but a reliable source of inspiration if you need to plan your next show.
