To me, watching a new DVD from SuperMario is like going to my regular restaurant, catching a movie from one of my old favorite directors, or listening to the new CD from one of my old favorite bands; you know already what you are going to get, you know you are going to like it, and that’s why you want it. Mario sticks to a well tested format; 10 figures, fixed camera, single view, no visual effect, no zooming and not even a single written title. First show the figure, then explain, then demonstrate to music. Plain and simple, and it works. It does because the content is very good. The figures are nice, as always, and here and there you find the surprise which satisfies your desire for novelty. All patterns are leadable, with a few exceptions which Mario promptly points out, and very well explained. As always Susana Montero, who somehow manages to improve her dancing at every single video, is the ideal partner, dancing perfectly and providing the necessary hints for the ladies. Some takes from Mario’s social dancing are also included and well worth studying. So, if you are intermediate or advanced, and you want a safe buy and some new routines to test your ability, you surely won’t go wrong with this one.
